The Presidents Cup hosted the Southeastern United States in September 2022.  Governor Roy Cooper attended the event and thanks to Carolina Sports Concepts he wasn’t hit by any errant golf balls!  Okay, so that probably wasn’t the most important detail in planning the event that brought over $175 million dollars to the region, but golfers and guests certainly would have noticed if proper protection had not been installed.

Carolina Sports Concepts worked closely with organizers at the PGA to design a driving range net system to protect the media tent at the back of the range.

This included:

  • A 60-foot-high net with an overhead netting system covering the walkway behind the media area.
  • An in-line netting system measuring that measured 780 linear feet by 60 feet high.
  • An overhead canopy net that measured 380 feet by 50 feet and towered 20 feet overhead. It also included a canopy that provided an 8-foot overhang along the edge of the media center.

This project took 12 class one 70-foot wood poles, 5 class one 60-foot poles, and 19 class one 30-foot poles.

By all accounts, this was an extraordinary accomplishment by both the PGA crew and the team at Carolina Sports Concepts.
